Natalia Kills


Natalia Cappuccini (born August 15, 1986), better known by her stage name Natalia Kills, is a British recording artist, songwriter, actress, and short-film director based in London and Los Angeles. Kills has previously gone under the aliases Verbalicious and verbz. Signed with Interscope Records, Kills released her debut studio album Perfectionist in April of 2011.

The Champagne Showers Songfacts tells us Cappuccini made her acting debut at age 7 in 1995 in the British television show, New Voices and at the age of fourteen she moved to London to pursue a career as an actress. The teenager managed to get herself had a regular role as Sima between 2002-04 in the sitcom All About Me and also played Amy Franks in the BBC’s long-running radio drama The Archers. Having started to write songs during this period, she signed to the UK record company “Adventures in Music”, and released her debut single “Don’t Play Nice ” under the name of Verbalicious in March 2005. The song charted at #11 in the UK singles chart but her record label later filed for bankruptcy and little was heard from her for a few years.

In January 2008 Kills was discovered by will.i.am and went on to sign to Interscope/Cherrytree Records via his imprint in late 2008. She was noticed for her self-produced and written demo EP Wommanequin which features the song “Real Woman”, a song about her challenge of society’s view of the perfect female form.

Perfectionist’s first single, titled Mirrors, was released to US iTunes on 10 August 2010, and has a video release date of 26 November. Natalia featured on the track 2 Is Better off the International release of Far East Movement’s 2010 album Free Wired.

In October 2010 Natalia opened for Kelis’ European, solo only dates of the All Hearts Tour, as well as joining Robyn’s November US and Canada tour. Natalia travelled to Germany in January 2011 to promote the rising chart success of Mirrors, where she performed an acoustic cover of Bulletproof by fellow labelmate, La Roux, accompanied on piano by Cherry Cherry Boom Boom.

Currently touring alongside Robyn again in Canada, the USA and the UK, Kills was released Mirrors in her home country UK on 18 April 2011 with the single already gaining high air play on radio stations and on the music channels becoming the V.I.P track of the week on 4Music with a release date of the album yet to be confirmed.

The second single to be released from the album was confirmed to be Wonderland released on 4 April in Germany with a worldwide release later on in the year. A teaser trailer for the video was uploaded onto Youtube on 23 March.
